12 Felony Forgeries against Jesus Christ

INTRODUCTION

This is the third felony forgery regarding Jesus Christ that I found by accident!

This demonstrates the treacherous finesse of the forgery and the forger.

Hard to see, the dark side is...

Acts 16
1 Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:
2 Which was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium.

3 Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek.
4 And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem.

5 And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.
6 Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,

7 After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.

Everything looks just fine in the KJV, but once you start to dig down a layer deeper, you can see the glaring error.

WHAT DO THE ANCIENT BIBLICAL MANUSCRIPTS SAY?

Let's look a bit deeper into this forgery by first checking out what the ancient biblical manuscripts say about it.

The Nestle-Aland critical Greek text version 28 also has "the spirit of Jesus" in Acts 16:7.

HOW DOES PHILIPPIANS 1:19 CLARIFY ACTS 16:7?

The phrase "spirit of Jesus" only occurs twice in the entire bible: Acts 16:7 & Philippians 1:19, where the complete phrase is: "the spirit of Jesus Christ".

Philippians 1:19
For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

screenshot of Philippians 1:19 in the companion reference bible.

The oldest biblical manuscript of Acts 16:7 is the Syriac text of 411A.D., and it is also the only one that matches Philippians 1:19 exactly.

One of the main themes of Philippians 1 is Christ, where that name is used 18 times in only one chapter!

The structural figure of speech in verses 12 - 26 of Philippians corroborates this as well.

If you study the 7th section of the book of Acts below, the phrase that best fits that section also is "Jesus Christ" and not just Jesus.

Therefore, this forgery actually deleted 3 words from the bible and not just 2.

THE REAL REASON ACTS 16:7 WAS FORGED

According to Rev. L. Craig Martindale, the author of The Rise and Expansion of the Christian Church in the First Century, the book of Acts is divided up into 8 sections, each ending in a summary and concluding statement, which is the figure of speech called symperasma.

An example of this is near the end of the gospel of John:

John 20:30
And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:

Verse 30 is a summary and concluding verse for the book of John.

[See E.W. Bullinger's book FIGURES OF SPEECH USED IN THE BIBLE (page 468)].

THE 8 SECTIONS OF THE BOOK OF ACTS CHART
SECTION # SECTION SUMMARY & CONCLUSION VERSE
1st Acts 1:1 - 2:46 Acts 2:47
2nd Acts 3:1 - 6:6 Acts 6:7
3rd Acts 6:8 - 9:30 Acts 9:31
4th Acts 9:32 - 11:20 Acts 11:21
5th Acts 11:22 - 12:23 Acts 12:24
6th Acts 12:25 - 16:4 Acts 16:5
7th Acts 16:6 - 19:19 Acts 19:20
8th Acts 19:21 - 28:30 Acts 28:31

As you can see, the forgery of Acts 16:7 occurs at the beginning of the 7th section.

7 is the number of spiritual perfection in the bible.

In I Corinthians 12:10, discerning of spirits is also listed as the 7th manifestation, a critically important distinction.

Corinthians 12
1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he [the person] will.

In verse 1, notice that the word "gifts" is in italics in the KJV [published in 1611 A.D.], which means the translators added it to the bible many centuries after God had his perfect word written!

Therefore, if we remove it, we are not altering the original word of God.

Here is a screenshot of E.W. Bullinger's Companion Reference bible:

And here is a screenshot of just one of many critical Greek texts of I Corinthians 12:1 that verifies the companion bible: [notice the red box - the word "gifts" is in square brackets, indicating words that the translators added]

In I Corinthians 12:1-11, if you look up several key words in a bible dictionary and apply standard rules of grammar [as well as the laws of logic and several other verses], the truth is that each MANIFESTATION has a unique benefit or profit.

In the spiritual competition [see ephesians 6], we are at the peak of performance and are on top of our game when we can operate the 7th manifestation of holy spirit, which is discerning of spirits, which must be done accurately, with full confidence and power.

Now apply this same principle to the 7TH SECTION of the book of Acts.

Acts 16:18
And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he [it since devil spirits do not have gender] came out the same hour.

The great apostle Paul cast a devil spirit out of a woman right off the bat in the beginning of the 7th section of the book of Acts.

You think the devil was pleased with that?!

Luke 10
17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Philippians 2
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

There are many other similar verses.

John 15
23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also.
24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.
25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

If you check out the rest of the 7th section, many great works of God were done in the name of Jesus Christ as well which also involved casting more devil spirits out using discerning of spirits and the power manifestations of holy spirit.

Romans 1:18
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

The word "hold" is the Greek word Katecho [Strong's #2722] and is more accurately translated hold down or suppress.

The devil can do only 4 different things against the word, known as the 4 C's:
  1. Conceal it [Romans 1:18]

  2. Contradict it [John 9:3; 34]

  3. Corrupt it [Matthew 4:6; Psalms 91:11,12]

  4. Counterfeit it [II Thessalonians 2:2]

Why?

From one perspective, the devil is fighting a losing battle against God.

He is trying to do anything he can to steal, kill and destroy the word of God because he knows that God is the greater power by a long shot and he's afraid.

James 2:19
Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

Check out the word "tremble"!

HELPS Word-studies
Strong's # 5425 phríssō – properly, to bristle (shiver) from fear; shudder (used only in James 2:19).

Putting this all together, you should see that the real spiritual reason the devil committed this forgery of deletion is because he hates Jesus Christ, the one who defeated him.

SUMMARY

  1. This is the third felony forgery regarding Jesus Christ that I found by accident!

  2. All ancient biblical manuscripts that I've check, in 4 different languages and several different geographical regions have the phrase "spirit of Jesus" or "spirit of Jesus Christ" in them.

  3. Based on Philippians 1:19, the context of the 7th section of Acts and the oldest biblical manuscript I could find, the correct translation of Acts 16:7 should be ..."spirit of Jesus Christ"

  4. The spiritual reason this verse was forged is because the devil was attempting to suppress the name of Jesus Christ in order to minimize the damage to the devil's own kingdom.

  5. The word "Christ" is used 18 times in Philippians 1 alone, emphasizing the importance of the name that is above all other names.
