INTRODUCTION:

The lake of fire in the book of Revelation is one of the most mysterious and horrifying things in the entire bible.

Many hell fire and brimstone preachers have gone off the deep end and scared people to death and done so much irreparable damage to the image and reputation of christianity.

The one true God does not motivate people by fear and terror and manipulation. That's what the devil does.

So what I'm going to do is tell you right up front what causes the lake of fire and then the rest of the entire article will cover all the countless details and magnificent truths that have never been known before.

Speaking in tongues causes the lake of fire!

2 Timothy 1:6
Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

The phrase “that thou stir up” refers to stirring up the spiritual flame within us by speaking in tongues the wonderful works of God.

John 7:38
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Belly refers to the depth of the heart of a person, their true soul and not any physical part of their body.

In the past year, I have often wondered about the apparent paradox of speaking in tongues being both a river of living water and a flame of living fire at the same time AND place. Since water puts out fires, how can this be?

Under normal circumstances, this is an obvious impossibility.

Therefore, the only logical conclusion is that either the bible is wrong [and all the christians who trust in God are crazy], or there must be an ABnormal condition [an artificially manipulated environment] that somehow makes this possible.

Guess what the answer is?

How can speaking in tongues be both water & fire at the same time?

It's critical to understand the logic and thinking process on how to arrive at the correct conclusion.

Now we’re going to explore some of the biblical information on fire and water in alphabetical order.

FIRE
2 Timothy 1:6
Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

The phrase “that thou stir up” is one Greek word anazópureó and the definition:
Strong's Concordance #329
anazópureó definition: to kindle afresh
Part of Speech: Verb
Phonetic Spelling: (an-ad-zo-poor-eh'-o)
Usage: I stir up the fire, fan the flame of.

This is the only place in the bible this is used, making it uniquely significan.

Since this is the first usage, it contains the defining characteristics and lays the foundation and pattern of truth for this word. But since its also the last usage, it carries the impact of being the final word on the matter, especially in light of II Timothy being the very last revelation that the apostle Paul wrote before he died, which was during the decline of the 1st century church.

Therefore, it has a unique compound and complementary kratos impact in only 1 word.

So we’re going to break this word down into its 3 distinct components:
Thayer's Greek Lexicon
“Ana preposition, properly, upward, up [this is appropriate, since flames burn upwards]
it denotes repetition, renewal, equivalent to denuo, anew, over again;”

Perhaps, in the context of the ruin of the church, even Timothy had been negatively affected by the sos [Seed Of the Serpent guys], and needed a bit of encouragement as we all do [doctrine, reproof, correction]:

2 Timothy 2:4
No man that warreth [labors] entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier [laborer].

Now for the next part of anazópureó; zo comes from zoon:
Strong's Concordance #2226
zóon definition: a living creature
Part of Speech: Noun, Neuter
Phonetic Spelling: (dzo'-on) Usage: an animal, living creature.

HELPS Word-studies
2226 zṓon (from 2198 /záō, "living") – a living creature (literally, "something alive"). 2226 /zṓon ("living creature") is often mistranslated "beast" (rather than "living being" or "living creature").

And now the last part of anazópureó: pureo has pur as its root word:
Strong's Concordance #4442
“pur definition: fire
Part of Speech: Noun, Neuter
Phonetic Spelling: (poor)
Usage: fire; the heat of the sun, lightning; figuratively: strife, trials; the eternal fire”.

HELPS Word-studies
“4442 pýr – fire. In Scripture, fire is often used figuratively – like with the "fire of God" which transforms all it touches into light and likeness with itself

God's Spirit, like a holy fire, enlightens and purifies so that believers can share more and more in His likeness. Indeed the fire of God brings the uninterrupted privilege of being transformed which happens by experiencing faith from Him. Our lives can become true offerings to Him as we obey this imparted faith from God by His power.

[This is illustrated by God's fire burning continuously at the entrance of the Tabernacle where the priests made sweet-savor offerings. Compare Lev 6:12,13 with 1 Pet 2:5,9.]”

WATER
John 7:38
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

There is a parallel in the bible about believing and speaking.

Psalm 116:10
I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:

2 Corinthians 4:13
We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

Its interesting that this verse is in the context of Rev. Martindale's groundbreaking audio teaching on renouncing the hidden things of dishonesty [II Corinthians 4:2] 4 sessions March 8, 2020-April 3, 2020 which is speaking in tongues the wonderful works of God.

II Corinthians 4:2
But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

This word “manifestation” is the Greek word phanerósis [Strong’s # 5321] and is only used twice in the NT: here and in I Corinthians 12:7, which ties it directly to speaking in tongues also.

Living elements
Speaking of living water and living fire, here’s the overall context:
  1. We worship a living God [I Timothy 3:15; 4:10; 6:17]
  2. Who is a fountain of living waters [Jeremiah 2:13 & 17:13]
  3. as we speak in tongues, God produces rivers of living waters [John 7:38]
  4. and flames of living fire [II Timothy 1:6]
  5. by a living and energetic word [Hebrews 4:12]
  6. so that we can be living sacrifices to God [Romans 12:1]
The answer
So with all those enlightening details, we’re still back to the drawing board:

In reference to speaking in tongues being both a river of living water and a living flame of fire, why would God make something that extinguishes itself?!

Matthew 12:25
And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

Obviously, God does not cause the body of Christ to be divided up against itself. That is what Satan, the god of this world does, so there must be a deeper answer, which is answered by an intriguing question:

What do water and fire have in common?

Oxygen.

Therefore, the purely logical conclusion is that the water, which puts out the fire, must be supplying the oxygen that the fire needs to burn!

If this doesn’t seem like a contradiction, then I don’t know what does.

We must first recognize that this is the psychological and spiritual stumbling block, the brick wall, that has blocked our enlightenment and complete understanding of speaking in tongues since the day of Pentecost.

Isaiah 57
13 When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take them: but he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain;
14 And shall say, Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare the way, take up the stumblingblock out of the way of my people.

Psalm 18:29
For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.

As Rev. Martindale has taught, walking in the word is basic renewed mind believing. Running involves the operation of the manifestations of holy spirit to get over the adversaries’ wall in our lives.

Yet the answer to this water and fire perplexity has been with us our entire lives, hiding in plain sight.

We have all learned from childhood science class that the chemical formula of water is H2O: 2 atoms of hydrogen are bound to 1 atom of oxygen that forms 1 molecule of water.

In order for the water to supply the oxygen that the fire needs to burn, it must first be separated it into its individual elements of hydrogen and oxygen.

There is a scientific process that has been known for about 200 years that does just that and its called electrolysis.

Definition of electrolysis:
Water electrolysis is an electrochemical process in which electricity is used to split water into two gases, hydrogen and oxygen.

[Technically speaking, there’s 3 different forms of water electrolysis with lots of details involved, so we’re just going to stick to the basics here].

Throughout the 7 GE [Grace Epistles - Romans through Thessalonians] and many other parts of the word, we have unlimited power available to us:

Ephesians 1:19
And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working [energizing] of his mighty power,

Hebrews 4:12 says we have a living and energetic word.

Acts 1:8 says we will receive power into manifestation as we speak in tongues.

How is that power released?

By believing God’s word, which means we speak forth his word [see previously referenced verses], whether we understand the words or not, such as in speaking in tongues [Greek word laleo].

But it must also be energized by the genuine love of God as well, which is to carry out the commandments of the Lord, which includes speaking in tongues [I John 5:3; I Corinthians 14:5 & 37].

Galatians 5:6
For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith [believing] which worketh [is energized] by love.

As a reminder, here is the definition of speaking in tongues from Rev. Martindale's advanced class syllabus [from the late 1990's]:

“God, who is the Holy Spirit, energizes the words of perfect praise and prayer within the believing heart of the one who decides [via the mechanics of articulation, internally or externally] to be edified spiritually by speaking divine secrets in a personally unknown language, thus bringing the gift of holy spirit into tangible and functioning reality within that believer”.

I am offering a new, second and complementary definition, but from a different perspective that builds on the first definition:

Our freewill decision to speak in tongues with the love of God in our heart of believing initiates a spiritual electrolytic process whereby the energized power of God is applied to the rivers of living waters, splitting them into the elements of spiritual hydrogen and oxygen.

The spiritual hydrogen is the flammable material [fuel] that the fire needs in order to burn.

The spiritual oxygen is the oxidizer which is necessary for the combustion process to take place.

However, if you think this new process through logically, then you end up with a new problem!

Since the water is being split into the 2 gases hydrogen and oxygen, and the flame continues to burn, you no longer have any water!

In an ironic reversal, the first problem we had was that the water seemed to be putting out the fire, but now the exact same fire appears to be vaporizing the water!

Yet every physicist, astronomer and chemist knows what happens when you burn hydrogen: 2 atoms of hydrogen will recombine with 1 atom of oxygen in the air and form water [H2O] once again [air is about 21% oxygen].

Apparently, God believes in recycling.

As long as we speak in tongues, this is how the spiritual electrolytic process can be maintained: the rivers of living water flow at the same time the flames of living fire burn.

Seeing the spiritual electrolytic process for the first time is our first of many sunesis discoveries, the initial turning point in our new understanding of God’s word.

For several months into this research project, I had wrongly assumed that the oxygen came from the air, but it can’t be for 2 reasons:

Ephesians 2:2
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience
  1. the air is part of the world and the devil is the god of it; therefore, its spiritually contaminated by the prince of the power of the air
  2. Because of the truth above, the air is also under the control of the prince of the power of the air, so it can be manipulated by him as well
Therefore, there are 2 requirements regarding oxygen:
  1. it must come from an absolutely pure source
  2. that same source must also not be under the control of God's enemy who is Satan
  3. this necessitates the spiritual electrolytic process!
I Corinthians 12, 13, & 14 handle all the details of the 9 manifestations of holy spirit in the context of our sonship right of sanctification. Jesus Christ, the red thread of the bible, is our sanctification.

Therefore, the entire spiritual electrolytic process is in a sanctified spiritual bubble, a spiritual greenhouse, to insure its purity and to protect it from manipulation from sources other than God [i.e. Satan].
